Manach is a shrub of medium size which is often cultivated as an ornamental plant. It is found in the Amazonian regions of Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela. In Brazil, Manach is known under various names, botanical, including B. unifloral, B. hopeana and Franciscea unifloral: all refer to the same plant. Other similar plants in Colombia and Ecuador are the B. chiricaspi and B. grandiflora, both used the Indians of the rainforest as a hallucinogen. These two plants are different from Manach.

In 1996, a phyto-chemical study of the shares of Air Manach revealed that contains active ingredients such as benzenoidi, the terpenes, alkaloids, lactones and lipids. Contraindications:

Manach was traditionally used as an abortifacient. Although there are no clinical studies that validate this traditional use, use during pregnancy is contraindicated.
The root of Manach at high doses can be toxic and cause excessive salivation, dizziness, general anesthesia, partial paralysis of the face, swelling of the tongue and impaired vision. Avoid doses higher than those recommended.
Those who are allergic to aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) should avoid using this plant: Manach course it contains salicylates and other derivatives. Some may be sensitive or intelleranti these natural elements without being allergic to aspirin.
